“The key part of this evolution is to change the culture of how we do things and what responsibility we take, both individually and collectively”

Consideration for our part in creating positive patterns within a greater interconnected whole is at the heart of everything we do. We believe no pattern or product should negatively impact the planet or people from which it is sourced and created. We have worked hard to ensure our processes and materials tread lightly on this planet we all share and call home.

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION HAS BEEN SUPPLIED BY OUR PARTNERS, THE PRINT SPACE

  • Paper & Sourcing
Our prints are printed on Hahnemühle Bamboo which is the world's first digital fine art inkjet paper made from bamboo (90%) and cotton (10%) fibres. Hahnemühle Bamboo is made from the fast-growing fibres from the bamboo plant and is completely renewable, biodegradable, grows rapidly and is sourced from ethically responsible and sustainable forests.

Environmental impact is low because bamboo demands no fertilisers, herbicides or insecticides.  Bamboo requires very little water for growth, therefore it can thrive without having a negative impact on water consumption. The paper made at Hahnemühle mills is certified for the traceability of the natural fibres from an origin of non-threatened forests.

Our Giclée paper manufacturer only uses resources from sustainable forest management areas. This programme ensures the preservation and protection of biodiversity, the renewal of the forest habitats and decreases the impacts of exploitation of forest areas for future generations. This natural warm tone, smooth fibre and ‘brightening-agent’ free art paper offers maximum ageing resistance. It guarantees an extremely large colour gamut and high colour density quality of print.

  • Printing Quality & Inks
All our prints are museum quality Giclée prints, expertly printed in London using the highest quality archival inks and paper. All our ink cartridges used to create our fine art prints are recycled to ensure the plastic doesn’t go to landfill. Our Epson inks and papers do not contain any animal products; Epson was one of the first companies in 1993 to eliminate CFCs entirely from their product range.

  • Packaging
All tubes, caps, envelopes, protective packaging materials are either 100% recyclable and/or marked biodegradable.

  • Additional Sustainability Information
We also recycle all our Giclée off-cuts from the print process and support local schools and charities with additional paper that is not used in the production process to minimise waste.

Every time a new user chooses Hahnemühle paper, a donation is made to the World Land Trust; supporting long-term conservation goals to connect and enlarge protected areas of land and forests that are rich in biodiversity. Read more about the trust here.
